"If I hadn't administered first aid to myself in time, I would now be 'resting' in the cold ground," shares Grinch, a serviceman from one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Grinch's unit underwent a week of training from PULSE, and now the serviceman has shared his story with us:
"Two guided aviation bombs hit the building I was in. I woke up from the 'vacuum' and ringing in my head, not understanding what was happening. I had shrapnel wounds and compound fractures in both thighs. Other injuries were discovered later.
I assessed the situation, understanding where I was bleeding and what needed to be done. Thanks to the training, I knew what to do and how to do it.
During the training, we practiced applying tourniquets, bandaging, and packing wounds – injuries we might potentially encounter. With my injury, it helped me a lot at the moment."
"You need to know tactical medicine because it's your 'second life.' Ignorance can play a cruel joke on you," emphasizes the fighter.
Thanks to Grinch for sharing his story, and we wish him a speedy recovery!
Friends, learn tactical medicine, and take care of your life and the lives of those around you!
